Westerra Credit Union Announces Change in Leadership On January 30, 2025, Westerra Credit Union announced Steve Schmidle has resigned from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Schmidle’s six-year tenure at Westerra has been marked by his dual contributions as both CEO and Chief Financial Officer, during which time he brought a professional approach and unwavering commitment that fostered numerous positive advancements for the organization. Mr. Schmidle will continue to lead as President and CEO until April 30, 2025. During this time, he will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure a smooth and seamless transition to new leadership. A comprehensive Succession Plan is in place to ensure a timely and successful President/CEO transition. The Board of Directors extends its gratitude to Mr. Schmidle for his dedication and leadership. Westerra’s Board of Directors is made up of individuals who are members of the credit union and serve on behalf of all members. Their focus is to review the direction of the credit union and to ensure plans and policies are properly implemented. Our 2024 Application cycle is now closed.
