DENVER, CO (January 5, 2026) – Every time you choose Westerra, you help us stand shoulder to shoulder with neighbors, schools and organizations that make Colorado thrive.
In 2025, that commitment came to life in countless ways. Our employees didn’t just give their all behind the scenes or in the branch. They stepped out into their communities to lend a hand. From stocking shelves at food pantries and pet pantries to swinging hammers with Habitat for Humanity, our team showed up where help was needed most.
273 employees volunteered
2,800 hours were dedicated to local causes

Because of you, Westerra gave $540,616 back to the community in 2025. That support touched lives through education, financial literacy, housing stability and community basics.
We launched a comprehensive financial literacy curriculum for educators across Colorado
We partnered with the Colorado Homeownership Coalition, contributing $10,000 annually to help families stay in their homes
We supported community basics through food pantries, pet pantries and housing initiatives
We found unique ways to support education and local classrooms. Through our Rockies partnership and Westerra Walks for Education, we pledged $200 every time the Rockies reached first base on a walk. By the end of the season, that added up to $43,600 donated to education initiatives.

When the government shutdown impacted members, we acted quickly with an interest-free relief loan program, providing more than $300,000 to help members through uncertain times. One member shared: “This is wonderful. Thank you for your care and support for those who are members and may need extra help and solace.”
We also celebrated members in joyful ways, awarding $16,000 in cash prizes to 12 members as part of our giveback initiatives.
Your security is always top of mind. Through fraud prevention efforts, seminars and resources, we saved members $4,272,721.42 in potential fraud losses in 2025.
This year brought incredible honors:
We were named one of Newsweek’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions
We were recognized as a ColoradoBiz Top Company
We received the Lakewood Mayor’s Inspiration Award

None of this would be possible without you. Your choice to bank local allows us to invest in education, financial literacy, housing stability and community basics. It allows us to respond when members need help and to celebrate when we achieve something great together.
Thank you for supporting Westerra Credit Union and for believing that banking local matters. Here’s to building even stronger communities in 2026.

We are proud to announce that we are entering our 10th year as a sponsor for Special Olympics Colorado's Annual plunge. This event raises money to support Special Olympic athletes so that they can participate in sports, health and other programs for free.
Colorado’s House Bill 25-1192, currently under review, aims to make financial literacy a graduation requirement for high school students. You may be asking yourself: should Colorado schools weave personal finance courses into their curriculum?
When you need access to extra funds, choosing the right type of loan can feel overwhelming.
